Last weekend, I spent 2 nights and 3 days indulging in a Kimberly Wilson’s retreat for art and yoga in the woods of West Virginia.  Three years ago, I learned how to art journal for the first time from Kimberly and her blog was one of the first that inspired me to start my own and find my own creative voice.  My girlfriend and I decided to sign up at the same time, so we headed out for the weekend to join 6 other fabulous like-minded ladies (even one girl from my hometown of Phoenix, who flew in for the retreat).

Kimberly is known for her darling design aesthetic (not to mention her clothing line, yoga studio, podcast, and more), so we spent the weekend savoring delicious vegan meals and all sorts of teas, art journaling sessions, yoga, reflective writing sessions, and a little goal setting.

I came back rejuvenated (to my husband and son in matching outfits–see Instagram photo below!)–and refreshed–a much-needed creative, physical, and emotional reboot.

Beverley Golden - What a fabulous way to share creativity with friends Jessica! Among my many creative experiences is creating large collages with my “Art from the Heart” Friday morning group. This reminded me of that camaraderie and how working together in a group allows something magical to happen.

Pat Moon - That sounds like an amazing retreat. I love scrap-booking. Every year I use photos to create a representative of the previous year to make a family calendar. All my family looks forward to looking at it when they receive it for Christmas and then they all hang it on their wall for the next year. I include everyone’s BD and anniversary, even those who have passed on so it has a bit of family history.

Katrina - Looks like you had a great time. I have partnered with another online marketing chef and we are going to be hosting a mastermind where we teach online marketing success in 60 days.
As an incentive we will personally cook every meal. It is our way of engaging and showing how a set plan of action can help you get the desired results you need.
Great post and love all the picture!

Sharon O'Day - Getting away like that, especially where you have a total change of pace, is so healthy. It allows you to break the continuum at home and come back to your “conversation” with many new perspectives. What a wonderful idea!

A. Lynn Jesus - What a great way to rejuvenate, meet new folks and learn via doing things you really like to do. This self investment is so needed. And your welcome home matching team are too cute!
